Depicted below is a process best used on durable granite monuments and markers only. We use many different techniques of cleaning for the more delicate, older and softer memorial stones such as marble, slate and sandstone. Soaked in a solvent to soften the moss/lichen, the monument is power washed to completely remove everything on the surface.

After!  The lettering and carving pop off the granite again!

With new lettering on the back this monument is clean and looking like it was just set in the cemetery for the first time.
